  1. Effective immediately on July 27th, 2017, the clan forums will be no longer. Instead they have been replaced with a forum clan system where each clan can have their own small section of the forums with multiple topics and calendars. These clans will tie in with your in-game v4 clans when available but you're free to go ahead and try out the forum clans first and get yours up and running ready for v4. Each forum clan will have a leader that is the original creator of the clan and they will be able to appoint separate moderators to help keep their clan section clean. This, however, is not essential, you can run it all by yourself if you like. Unlike in-game clans, a forum clan will have unlimited user slots where you will be able to invite existing forum users to your created clan or you will be able to request to join someone else's clan. Again, unlike the in-game clans, you will be able to join multiple forum clans for the ease of being able to communicate with everyone on the forums. While this can be seen as your own section of the forums, it does not mean you can overrule the original global forum rules. These still apply to all clans created and will be enforced by the global moderators/administrators. You can find the new clans section in the top menu of every forum page: From here, you will be presented with the options of creating a clan or joining an existing clan. If you decide to create a clan, the privacy of this clan is decided by you with the following options: Public Everyone can see the clan and its posts, and can participate without joining. Open Everyone can see the clan and its posts, but only members can participate. Everyone can join. Closed Everyone can see the clan and who's in it, but only members can see posts and participate. Users need to ask a leader to join. Private Only members can find the clan and see its posts. Users need to be invited by a leader to join. This current clan sub-forum will be removed with all of it's content on August 15th, 2017 which gives everyone who currently has a topic here the chance to gather any information they need and migrate it to the new clan section. Soon to follow this topic is the clan section rules outlined and a detailed guide on how to set up and run an effective forum clan.

  4. Notice Report Feature

Even as moderators, sometimes we may miss out on someone breaking certain rules by double posting, swearing etc In such cases if you do notice it,please use the report feature found next to each post(which is rarely used due to either fear or ignorance)or quote me/sportsandmusic69,even if it is your own post, recognition of your own mistakes is honourable and not folly to do this, simply mention us in the post where the mistake has been committed, such as "@ Uncle_Psychic,double post, please remove",or post it on our profile/contact us using personal messenger Bans are only received after 3 warnings, and warnings are only received after extreme cases of persistent refusal to comply,so dont worry about that aspect,do what's right =) Any such initiatives to make the forums a better and more lively place is greatly appreciated, the responsibility for its maintenance belongs to everyone, its the users which play the game after all
  5. Notice Maintenance 11th June 2016

Pokemon Vortex June 2016 Maintenance You're probably wondering why the game is currently down and has been for quite a few hours now. Well, fear not, it is for a good cause. Earlier today a problem that had existed here on the forums last week caused a larger problem within the game which has since been resolved but I decided to take this time while the game is down to do some preparation work for v4, that being enforcing our fair play policy in which no automated playing is allowed, nor bug/glitch abuse. While these were always rules within v3 and any version to follow after, they have not been strictly followed by many members. But that does not mean we were not aware of it. Every account is closely monitored by an automatic system that will watch you battle, catch, trade and evolve Pokémon and flag your account if it detects any wrong doing. These flags are then later reviewed by myself to determine whether the flag was just and issue a ban. Over time, the log filled up without any justice to the people who were wrongly "playing" but the intention was always there to later come back to these and clean it up for a better playing experience for you all. What does this mean? At the moment, I am working through a huge backlog of accounts to ban and Pokémon's experience to reset which breach these rules. All accounts that were automating experience on their Pokémon will be banned. All Pokémon that were traded (unknowingly) to others after having automated experience put on them will be reset to 50,000 (Level 100) All Pokémon that were glitched in any sense to filter attacks, types or origin will be returned to their original state. Every account in the game will have it's points and experience set to 0 (Just complete a battle to update the points back to it's original state) I got banned but I didn't break any rules The ban process is not automatic and users are vetted completely before anyone is banned so the likelihood of you being wrongly banned are beyond small. I hear it all the time "I didn't do anything". Honestly, don't waste your time trying it, I've been watching your account since it was made. Do bans get lifted after a certain amount of time? Absolutely not. Familiarise yourself with the rules and don't break them then you wouldn't have been banned to begin with. What is the fair play policy? Our fair play policy is an aim to make everyone play the same without certain people having advantages that others don't such as third party apps playing for you (botting) or trying to glitch the game in a way that is beneficial to the way you play. For example, some of you may be aware of accounts that have "glitched" Pokemon on the team and they have no attacks so you will use them to battle against without these Pokémon being able to deal damage. This is not allowed in any way. You are not allowed to create these accounts, Pokemon or battle against them. Fixes for these are being worked on and will be applied within v4. While currently the glitched Pokemon accounts will go unpunished - From the end of the maintenance, anyone caught creating or battling against these accounts WILL be banned without question. If you have any questions about fair play, don't hesitate to ask on our questions forums. Most people here are up to speed and understand it already. When will the maintenance be done? I'm working as fast as I can to clear it all up but I expect it to run into approximately 48 hours or so. Don't forget, when the maintenance is complete, you will need to do a battle to update your points and experience back to it's original and rightful state.
  6. Hi everyone! So with the ongoing development with version 4 of Pokémon Vortex, my time for version 3 is pretty limited. With that, it means I want to focus on v4 as much as possible so I can get it finished, out and ready for you all to start enjoying. Sadly, this also means I don't have much time for new event creation right now. BUT, fear not, it was times like this which is the reason I made the Event Center the way it is... So you can all vote to bring back old events in times of event dry spells. So, vote above which one you would like to come back and I will take into consideration (very strongly) whether it will happen or not. Please note that even though I am taking a public vote on bringing an event back, that does not mean the winning vote is actually going to be back, I might decide against it and do a new event or I might choose something else that didn't win or wasn't even in the poll. This is just to see what people would like to see again. (It also gives me an idea of the events people liked/disliked although this is highly biased since no one will vote for an event that happened a week ago)
  7. Notice Reputation

Reputation is put in place so the community can deem a thread as a contribution to the community and so the top contributors can be recognized. Some seem to be under the impression that getting to the top contributors list is a competitive thing and that was not our intention when we placed it there, nor will we be changing our minds. While wanting to contribute to the community is great, asking for rep is not necessary. If your thread contributes to the community through being useful, entertaining, etc, you will receive your due reputation. So please, when posting, do not ask for reputation, and please members of the community, do no contribute to anyone trying to abuse the reputation system in this way. Anyone attempting to abuse reputation will get their reputation reset and experience our Warning System. Reputation was originally set to 20 points daily, however we will be reducing it to 5 daily, so use your reputation wisely.
  8. With how busy things have been lately (event before the great wipe of '16) The admins and myself find little time to maintain our social media pages and seem to focus strongly on Facebook with a bit of love for Twitter here and there. Google+ Just gets 100% neglect - The last post on it was by me in 2014 which I only just noticed today. Anyway, I don't like having them just left to gather dust so I thought why not reach out to the community and see if there's anyone who uses social media much and if they would be interested in helping us maintain a few of these pages. We will still maintain Facebook ourselves but we are looking for people to help manage Google+ and Twitter. If you're interested, feel free to drop me a message or reply to this topic answering the following: 1) How frequently to do use: - Twitter - Google+ 2) What is your main speaking language? 3) Why would you want to help maintain one of these pages? 4) Have you maintained a large scale following page before? (Not important but would be nice) The main roles of running these pages will be to answer the communities questions and forward the administration team their feedback. You will also be expected to follow our forums & Facebook very closely for news so you can repost it on Google+ and/or Twitter as soon as possible after.
  9. With Pokémon Vortex being in its BETA stage, as the game progresses to transition out of BETA, things will come, things will go and a lot will change. One of those big changes is the current clan system. Since the start of v3, the clans have been under close watch to see how people use them, what was useful, what works, what doesn't and more importantly, what you wanted to see them become. We've had a LOT of feedback on the clans since launching them and I'm happy with the responses as of now. However, in their current state, they are by no means a complete asset. What I was hoping to achieve with a clan system was a more interactive game style added within the game where you don't feel as if you're playing alone. After over a year of seeing how people use the clans and hearing what people want of them, it is time to see them disappear for a while. They've had their time in the light and their extensive testing thanks to the community and it gives me great pleasure to announce what is in store for clans in an upcoming update which not only will bring the game out of BETA, but will see Pokémon Vortex transpire into something with even more potential I ever thought it could have. The clans section of Pokémon Vortex will be closed down in the coming weeks, I am unsure as of yet if the created clans will remain a part of the future clan system - This will be confirmed as I know more. However, I can confirm that if current clan owners DO get to keep their clans, they will be the only member of it when it re-launches. SO, onto the good stuff? I'm sure you all want to know what is in store for clans. One bit (The main and biggest change) is going to remain a secret until it's ready to launch. But here is some other things you can look forward to with clans: - You will finally be able to invite people to your clan through an in-game invitational system (No more pesky messaging asking people to request a join) - A gifting system will be implemented where you can send your fellow clan mates Pokémon, items or money without accepting anything in return. - Clan depository (A vault locked to your clan where members can put in Pokémon, items and money for others to request withdrawal of) - Clans will have a member ranking system that the leader will be able to assign (Each role will have higher and significant permissions) Roles will include: -- Leader (1) (The highest of rankings - Can do anything within a clan) -- Co-Leader (3) (Second in command - Will be able to invite, remove lower ranked users, able to accept requests to withdraw from clan deposits) -- Elitist (10) (Basically scouts-people - Will be able to invite and remove lower ranked users) -- Members (386) (Casual member of the clan - Will be able to gift and deposit in the clan depository) - As highly requested, the leader of a clan will now be able to disband a clan, if the clan is empty, the clan will simply cease to exist until re-created. If the clan has members, Leadership will be passed on to the next in command. - You will now be able to see who is active within your clan to decide who is contributing towards its ranking on the leaderboard. (Clan battle count for each individual member will be displayed on the main clan screen and will be reset monthly) - Clans will be getting a second leaderboard where prizes can be won, courtsey of Pokémon Vortex. (Details on this are to be determined) - The main and biggest of the changes - All I'll say is, it's a game changer So there it is. There are also some small tweaks here and there being made within them but those are the main changes you will notice and enjoy as a whole. Don't forget though, this is an incomplete project so if you still have ideas or something on your mind regarding clans, feel free to say so because while they are in development is the best time to be throwing ideas. You can submit any ideas you have here: http://forums.pokemon-vortex.com/forum/40-provide-ideas-feedback/
  10. When creating a report thread, please make sure to be as informative and thorough as possible. At minimum a report must include the scammer's username, the scam message, and a screenshot as proof. Any user who tries to create a false report in an attempt to get an innocent player banned, will be punished with a ban.
