Answered Varying ability damage

Hello, I just noticed that my pokemons, namely my pichu and absol have a big difference in damage with the same spell (thunderbolt). They are both the same variant and I used the spell on a normal type in both instances. Can someone explain to me why? Is there some kind of special element rule for them?

Yes for absol is a pure dark type while pichu is a electric type if the move the Pokémon use is the same as the element or elements it has, it will do more damage
