Someone bidding on your listed auction is not what I would consider important, would be a waste of resources and make the notification system spammy and abusable to annoy other players. If you want to know if someone has bid on your auction, you can simply check the auction. When it comes to notifications, it's best to have the rule of thumb in mind; "Do I need to know this happened right away?"
