Click your username at the top right, then go to your profile. Choose to edit your profile then you should see "Enable status updates?", and make sure it's enabled and green, then save. After that refresh or go to the next page and click "Create" at the top, you'll see "Status" has now appeared. Go from there and you can create a status update now.

Question 1: Most likely, you will have to recreate your account if it was created after that date. I'm not 100% sure, but most likely you will.
Question 2: I imagine it will run for about 2-3 weeks. I believe that is a little more time given than in December, but we will also have double happiness, double exp., etc give once the game is back up.
Question 3: Any progress you made after that date is lost. If you donated money for a Mewtwo (Armor) you will get them back, if you traded, that's another story and you'll have to retrade.
Question 4: Patrick has stated he's set up an ICloud and I believe 2-3 other spots that will all do a backup every 24 hours so if something should fail, it can all be retrieved and at most 24 hours will only have been lost, instead of what happened here.
I know I'm not part of the mod team, but I thought I've give you the best answers I know of.

Hey, I'm sportsandmusic69 or you can call me by my name Philip, or as the chat refers to me as either Sam or S&M69. Not really sure when I joined, I'll have to look at my account history when the game is back up. I played Pokemon Crater when it was up, it closed down eventually, and sooner or later I found this site looking for an exact copy of it which I am happy to have done (YAY boredom!). But I like helping people out by answering any of their questions. I don't like cheaters though, so, yeah, none of that And of course, Charmander is my favorite Pokemon, and my favorite region is Kanto. So feel free to ask me questions here, on the chat, ingame, etc. I'll try my best to answer them.
