  1. I have thought of something to this effect before and it would be very helpful. Now the thing with it is, people have a tendency to report things that do not need reporting just for the hell of it and then you get some people who will spam report probably to annoy us. The second one can be contained with a flood control making it so you can only report one message every hour or so. The first problem still persists and will cause a lot of wasted time but I'll definitely think of a way it can be done because I want something like this myself.
  2. How could you have lost that? Did you trade for it?
  3. So far around 200 hours, money, my sanity and the will to live. Do I win?
  4. This is not a helpful answer/response. This forum is for questions and answers only so keep on topic please.
  5. I'm not sure what went wrong and caused it to lock your account, I can only assume you didn't type your password correctly like you thought you had. I've unlocked your account for you. the name you are likely trying to register with using the forums registration probably already exists as a Vortex game account so you will not be able to register it unless you are the owner of it.
  6. Generally before the wipe of the forums, we didn't like people creating multiple forum accounts, it complicates things such as people giving themselves reputation or ban evading or trying to enter giveaways multiple times. However, with the addition of now being able to log in with your in-game name, this complicates it as the game does not require email validation. There are other means and ways of keeping it all under control which I'll be working on but for now I'm going to say it's fine to have other forums accounts as long as they originated from a game account. SO, this means you can have 3 forums accounts, for example, which were all created from Vortex game accounts but you cannot sign up to the forums 3 times using its registration form. I will be looking through the rules soon to make sure all still apply and to each of their forums. Some might be a bit outdated and need re-wording and some generally may not apply at all any more.
  7. Pokémon Vortex is a free online Pokémon MMORPG based on that of Pokémon Crater. It has many features Crater had and more. These include: Interactive World - v5's biggest update was the newly designed interactive live map system. Destroying the norm of 20+ years of Pokémon Crater and Pokémon Vortex, there is now a live map system where you can run around an interactive world in real-time with your friends, finding all of your favourite Pokémon from every region. The possibilities for the future this new world brings to Pokémon Vortex has excited everyone and we're happy to have you here for it. Clans - In-game clans are one of the few ways you can come together with other players and enjoy the game together. Band together to become the most infamous group of players on Pokémon Vortex and own the clan leaderboard. Many of the more popular clans even run their own small communities in various places such as Discord or Facebook where they will host giveaways and their own set up events. PokéBay - PokéBay is an auction system where players can auction their items, Pokémon, avatars and promo codes to other players. Auctions have set minimal start prices and as the price of the auction rises, the minimal bid requirement will get higher. PokéBay comes equipped with highly detailed search, filter and order options to help users find exactly what they're looking for. When a player has found what they are looking for, they can view an auction to see bid history and various details about the Pokémon/avatar/promo code/item being auctioned. Not ready to bid on it? Don't worry, PokéBay also has a watch list where you can keep track of auctions you want to bid on later or just want to see the outcome of when it's ended. Trainer battling - There are numerous battling methods on Pokémon Vortex, you can battle through the gyms to collect all the badges from Kanto, Johto, Orange Islands, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola and Galar and the Elite 4's/Champions from these regions. In addition, there are also the Battle Frontiers from the Hoenn and Sinnoh regions. Only the gym badges are needed to find the legendary Pokémon of the corresponding region out in the wild. You can also battle your friends and other online members through their profile page or searching a username through the battle page (This is computer controlled). Sidequests are also available and have prizes. You can work your way through the regions of the Pokémon games such as Kanto to gain experience, money, items and exclusive Pokémon. Finally, there are the special battles, you can battle all the teams of your favourite villain characters of Pokémon such as Team Rocket and Team Aqua. Special battle events will be added occasionally, or during specific holidays. Pokemon Types - Pokémon Vortex includes its own six types of Pokémon to collect, over a total of 7,000+ Pokémon. These types are Normal, Shiny, Dark, Mystic, Metallic and Shadow. Each type has its significant battling purpose that gives it a slight perk when going against another Pokémon. There are also other special types of Pokémon for you to battle on your way through trainer battles such as Pink or Crystal: These obscure Pokémon will be obtainable later down the road for the newly introduced "Side Pokédex" which is a collection of Pokémon that cannot be found in their usual 6 variants. Leaderboards - We have multiple leaderboards here on Pokémon Vortex, the main one being the global top trainers list which can be ordered in 4 different ways giving you 4 possibilities to enter the list. The main order is by points which is calculated from all factors of your account. (Total experience, average experience, unique Pokémon and battle count - each of these are also ways in which the top trainer list can be ordered by) To make things a bit easier, we also have a local top trainers list which is a separate leaderboard for each country which is identical to the global top trainers except you can only be on the list for your current location. There is also a ranking board for the Pokémon that have the highest experience in the game. Stick to one Pokémon and go all out - You'll eventually end up with one on there. The most exciting of the leaderboards is the seasonal top trainers. This leaderboard is reset monthly and will only count a players progress for that 'season'. When the list is reset, everyone who places in the top 100 will be given an exclusive prize available no other way. Finally the richest users list is where you will end up if you decide to save all those hard earned Pokédollars rather than spending them. This list is ordered by who has the highest amount of money in the game currently. Unique Pokémon - Pokémon Vortex has its own unique Pokémon designs made by staff and members, each of which come in all of the six Vortex types, Normal, Shiny, Dark, Mystic, Metallic and Shadow and can be obtained in different ways. These Pokémon are as follows: We add more Vortex unique Pokémon as we come across a nicely designed sprites we're willing to use. Trading - We have a very detailed trade system where you can search for, offer and put up your own Pokémon in a trade. Trading can also be made easier to find a specific Pokémon or requirement by using the trade forums here. Pokédex - You can keep track of all the Pokémon in your account through the Pokédex side tab. This lists every Pokémon, here on Vortex in all six variants that you own and need. Pokémon you own are depicted with the Pokéball it was caught in and Pokémon you need are depicted with a faded Pokéball. In addition, there is also a section called the "Side Pokédex" which is a collection of Pokémon that can be obtained only in a single variant, unlike a usual Pokémon in Vortex which can have six. An example of this Pokémon is Mewtwo (Shadow) Evolution - As you would expect, evolution is available on Vortex with realistic methods. Many Pokemon evolve through levelling up in battles while others require an elemental stone which can be purchased at the PokéMart, certain gender requirements or happiness. There are also Pokémon which will need to be evolved at a specific time of day, these Pokémon will evolve according to your time zone that was set when your account was created. You can read about how to evolve specific Pokémon on Vortex by visiting the evolution wiki guide here. Messaging & Notifications - Pokémon Vortex has its own in-game messaging system where you can communicate with other members instantly, you can save sent messages and store received messages in your inbox. You can message a member by clicking 'New Message' on the message page or by clicking 'Send Message' on a users public profile. You can also block people from messaging you who you would rather not having contact you by clicking the block button on their profile. If you have it enabled, you will get message notifications whenever you receive a new message. As well as leaving people offline messages to read when they get online, we have an in-game live chat system that sits in a bar on the bottom of every game page. This bar also serves as your notification hub where you will be notified of messages, trades, friend requests, badge unlocks, auction outbids and more. Profiles - You have 2 profiles, a main profile that only you can view and a public profile for other members to see. Your private profile can stores your email address, Forum username and Skype username privately if you do not wish for this information to be publicly available. You can also track your progress through this page, it displays your username, sprite, wins/losses, points, unique Pokémon, total experience, average experience, money, register date, public comments and all your badges. You can edit your profile comments, trainer overworld and avatar here. Your public profile is slightly the same except this will show other players a bit more information on your account such as tell them your current Pokémon team, global and local rank, country along with badges and certain options such as; message, view trades, view all Pokémon, battle, add to friends, follow, invite to clan and ignore. Finally, this page displays your last login to Pokémon Vortex and registration date. Fossil Lab - Here you can regenerate your fossil items you won from Sidequests back into their living Pokémon state. For example, you may win a Dome Fossil from Sidequests - You can then go to the Fossil Lab to regenerate it to a Kabuto. The type of Pokémon it turns to is random. It has a 5 in 10 chance of being Normal or it has a 1 in 10 chance of becoming either of the special variants; Shiny, Dark, Mystic, Metallic or Shadow. Restoring a fossil also has a 1 in 10 chance of dropping the avatar for the corresponding Pokémon you're restoring. Event Center - The Event Center is where you'll go to take part in certain special events held here on Pokémon Vortex. Sometimes, to enter, you will need an 'Event Ticket' to unlock the page. These are one-time use items that will unlock the page to take part in any current event we're holding. You may be given an Event Ticket by Pokémon Vortex or you may have to win one, this depends on the event and how we choose to run that specific event. Community - We have a very warm and welcoming community here on Vortex and many ways of meeting other members. Our favourite, of course, being Discord where you can text, audio and video chat with other Pokémon Vortex players as well as join in an hourly quiz we run for in-game goodies. And then there's the forums where you can join and post to make friends, trade, share art, join/create contests and more. We also have a Pokémon Vortex Twitter where you can follow us to receive the latest news and updates straight to your Twitter feed.

  9. What is a training account? Training accounts are user accounts much like your own. They are set up by other players in a way that they will deal as little damage (or none at all) to your Pokémon when battling against it. Are training accounts allowed to be used? Yes. Will the training account Pokémon damage my Pokémon? Under most circumstances, yes damage will be done to your Pokémon. If your Pokémon has an immunity to the opponent Pokémon attacks, then no damage will be dealt. These are known in the community as "Immunity Pokémon". What is an "Immunity Pokémon"? An immunity Pokémon is a Pokémon that will receive no damage from a certain attack type. One example is Ghost-type Pokémon are immune to Normal-type attacks. Can I create a training account to be listed here? This is not a Pokémon Vortex staff project and will not be maintained. It is very unlikely this list will be kept up to date if certain accounts no longer work or are unavailable. Training accounts are and always will be run and maintained by the players. 10. Account Safety Keeping your account safe, here on Pokémon Vortex should be your number one priority as helping you do so is ours. We can only help you so far before it becomes your own responsibility. Follow the steps in this guide to ensure your account remains just that - YOUR account. First of all, I suggest checking through @Tyheamma's anti-scam guide, here on the forums: http://forums.pokemon-vortex.com/topic/66-anti-scamming-guide/ The most common cause of losing your account is due to a scam. People will send in-game messages claiming to be Pokémon Vortex administrators or representatives saying something along the lines of: "Your account has a problem and we need your password to correct it" or "You have won a special Pokémon, please reply with your password to claim it" This is never real - Myself and other Pokémon Vortex representatives will NEVER ask you for your account information without you first presenting us with an issue you need help with. Even then, we never need your password, only a username is sufficient enough for us to correct most problems. Other forms of scams can include people offering you "hacks" / "cheats" or "bots" - These programs they ask you to download are not normally what they say they are, they can gain access to anything on your computer if you let it. Even browser extensions are unsafe to download as they can read through personal data. If you willingly give out your password or download programs to gain advantages in the game, you deserve to lose your account and we will not help as it happens too often and takes up too much time for us to keep having to retrieve your accounts. Moving on to the main point of this topic is creating strong passwords and to stop people gaining access to your account by other means. The second most common cause of people losing their account is people they know stealing them. If you have friends who play the game, you need to remember that they know a lot about you, if your password is your dogs name, this is the worst idea in the history of bad ideas. So lets break it down into simple steps: Upon creating your account, you SHOULD use a real email address, even though it is not required, this is for your own good. If you lose access to your account whether someone stole it or you just generally forgot your password, you will never get it back because you decided to use a fake email address you have no access to. Not only this but using a fake email address like pokemon_vortex_my_account_22[at]hotmail.com - This email address likely has not yet been created on Hotmail, this will allow someone else to go and make the address and again, steal your account. Do not use fake email addresses, it's there to help you and they can be hidden in the options of the game. Again, upon creating your account, you will want to make a strong and secure password. A good Password: Uses at least 15 characters Has upper case and lower case letters Is not a piece of private information such as family names or birthdays Does not contain your username Is not a password you use on another website Has at least one special character (¬`!"£$%^&* etc) Is not a keyboard pattern such as qwerty or 1234567890 You can use this tool to help you create strong passwords: https://strongpasswordgenerator.com/ Now obviously you're not expected to remember this password as it won't be a word or phrase you're familiar with but you can make a note of it somewhere on your computer/phone/tablet or even on paper. It doesn't matter too much if you lose it as you should have used a real email address to then be able to reset your own password and regain account control. Once your account is created, you will want to change your password periodically. Now this isn't essential but it just keeps it more secure if someone is ever trying to gain access to your account. I would personally suggest changing your password probably once a month. Again, don't forget to make a note of what you change it to. Lastly and briefly, again with the scams, once you have your account and you're enjoying your Pokemon Vortex experience, you may receive a message that doesn't ask for your password but asks you to change your email address to something other than your own. This is also a scam and they will use a password reset link to hijack your account. I think that's all there is to say about it - Keep your accounts safe people, it's not hard.
