Answered Clarification for nicknames

Hi there,

Tried to nickname my "Shiny Cryogonal" to just "Cryogonal" but it got declined. 

The guidelines are a little unclear so just curious for the reason - thought it was a pretty harmless nickname but I'm assuming its got something to do with maybe fraud like naming a normal pokemon a shiny one?

• You cannot use offensive/profane words
• Nicknames must be alphanumeric
• Nicknames must be between 3 and 31 characters long"

To answer your question, it's to prevent people from trying to scam other players.

 

For example, if I was to name a normal Zekrom "Shiny Zekrom" and then try to trade it for someone, just for them to realize it's a normal one and not really a shiny.

I tried to nickname my Caperupt as volcanion and it got declined.

Dunno why either
