With the kind mathematical help of @Lunchbox we now have a wiki article that has definitive map encounter rates. Long gone are the days of "legendaries are 1 in 1000" speculations.

Trade will be back some time today. I'm not 100% through all the bans but trade has been down long enough. I've made a HUGE dent in the botting accounts and botted experience so it will do for now. 2,000 accounts banned and 4,000,000,000 (Four billion) experience reset so far. Not bad. There will be a brief Maintenance break while I put trade back up, reset everyone's points and do some database optimization in preparation for v4. Don't forget, after the maintenance you will need to do a trainer battle to update your stats back to normal.

Maintenance topic has been updated again. (Not for extra time, don't worry)
I would actually rather leave the game down entirely until I'm 100% done but I know a lot of you have waited all weekend to get back on and play and it's not fair you haven't been able to because of the minority of cheaters. This isn't my favourite kind of maintenance, I'd much rather be working on content updates but keeping the game clean is just as important in my eyes and I hope yours too.
I also hope this will start to hit people's realisation in how serious I am about fair play, I do not take it lightly and look forward to more people taking this on board.
Don't forget, when the game is back up, you will need to do a battle or catch a Pokemon to update your points and experience
